Our Career Mentors support and guide the recovery community in their individual goals so they can see there is no limit to what they can accomplish.
Mentoring is important not only because of the knowledge and skills individuals can learn from mentors, but because it can also provide professional socialization and personal interactions that greatly enhance the individual’s future success and beyond.
A mentor shares with a group information about his or her own career path, as well as provides guidance, motivation, emotional support, and is a role model. A mentor can also assist with exploring careers, setting goals, developing contacts, and identifying resources. They encourage the mentee(s) to work towards their own individual objectives and are a motivating guide for the mentee(s) on their journey.
