International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event held every year on August 31st with the goal to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death. It is also a day to memorialize all of those we have lost as a result of a drug overdose, offer sympathies to our dear friends and family members who have lost their loved ones, and to acknowledge those in recovery.
